As an artist committed to the beauty of the material glass, Servais Bastian Grivel has more than 30 years of experience, and has become a true master in the art of Glass Fusing.

In 2014 he moved to Norway and in 2015 he built his glass fusing studio in the Hydrogenfabrikk in Fredrikstad, Norway, where he could realize two magnificent, monumental art works which are located in Southern Switzerland: "Abbraccio Universale", located in the new build Chiasso Crematory, and "Sole e Luna", in the morgue of the municipality of Vernate.

Before moving to Norway, he has been employed in some of the most relevant glass art companies in Germany and Switzerland, where he was the executing master of famous glass art works such as - amongst others - the Sigmar-Polke-Windows in Zürich Grossmünster, the House of Parliament Ceiling in Barcelona and the Wedding Room in the municipality of Tromsø.

Besides those big artworks, he produces also smaller objects and experiments with the nearly infinite possibilities of the Material Glass. He is a pioneer in the creation of new techniques, combining the knowledge of the old masters with a genuine curiosity and the best imaginable practical and aesthetic skills.

His approach and output are constantly evolving as he hone his personal style. However, he refuses to be typecast and work hard to ensure they do not repeat himself. No matter what, Servais Bastian Grivel approaches each project with complete enthusiasm and total dedication.
